Some Irony...
So Taguchi is now playing for the Memphis Redbirds. He struggled at first, but now has hit safely in his last four games, as well as driving in a run in each of his last three. I think the faster American delivery was giving him trouble, and now he's getting used to it. (Japanese pitchers pitch in a 1-2-and-3 rhythm, pitchers in North America pitch in a 1-2-3 rhythm.) It turns out that one of his Redbirds teammates is none other than Ivan Cruz, lately of the Hanshin Tigers. Even more ironic, Taguchi lost his place on the Cardinals' 25-man roster to none other than Eduardo Perez, also lately of the Hanshin Tigers...
