Hanshin Tiger Lin

Discussion in the CPBL News forum
Hanshin Tiger Lin
Hey, does anyone know anything about the Hanshin Tiger rookie, Lin Wei Chu? Was the guy raised in Japan? How good is he - strengths and weaknesses? I had never heard of the guy in the Taiwan media regarding up and coming players.

Appreciate any info. Any advance. Thank you.

Lin was raised in Taiwan. He then was scouted by Yanagigawa High School (I believe) to play on their baseball team. Lin then went to college and entered the draft of the 2003 season. Because he was a student for 7 years, he was not considered as a foreign player, due to the rule that states "a player who is not originally Japanese but studied in Japan for 4 years or more will not be considered as a foreign player, and must be signed through the drafting system."
