Pat Ahearne, Kevin Tolar in CPBL
The Makoto Cobras have signed 38 year old right handed pitcher Pat Ahearne. In 2006 with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League Ahearne, Ahearne was 12-4 with a 3.47 ERA in 23 games. The Cobras have released Jose Rodriguez (1-1, 6.28 ERA in 4 games).

Meanwhile, the Chinatrust Whales have inked 36 year old lefty Kevin Tolar. Last season with the Ducks Tolar was 0-2 with 17 saves and an 1.60 ERA in 36 games. The Whales said zaijian to Josue Matos (0-1, 27.00 ERA in 1 game) and Chris Mowday (1-1, 8.59 in 2 games). We hardly knew them.
