Takateru Iyono to Tryout with Elephants
Former Hanshin Tigers right handed pitcher Takateru Iyono is trying out with the Brother Elephants. In 2008 Iyono, 28, posted a 2.92 ERA in 15 games with the Tigers' farm team. Also on the Elephants is left hander Mitsuru Tanaka who spent 2008 with the Yokohama BayStars as a batting practice pitcher.

Iyono was terrible, 0-4 with ERA over 9 and got released.
