Will a american ps3 play japanese ps3 games?mainly the pro yakyu games.

The latest confimed news is that all Sony PS3 games will be region-free, with other games being region-free at the individual publishers discretion.
As the Yakyu games are not Sony games it will be up to Konami and Namco to decide whether or not to make their games region free.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
