16 Year Old Makes Professional Debut
16 year old pitcher Kento Tsujimoto, the youngest player ever drafted, made his professional debut with the Tigers' ni-gun team Thursday (June 29th). Tsuijmoto went to Mater Dei High School in California and was the 8th round pick by the Tigers last year in the amateur draft.

Tsuijmoto pitched one inning, allowing 1 run, on two hits. His fastball was recorded at a maximum of 138km during the game. Tsuijmoto went on to say, "I was a bit nervous in the bullpen but once I was on the mound I was all right."

Do Japanese Players have to finish high school in order to be drafted? If that being so, I guess the reason why Tsujimoto could get drafted at 16 was because he attended an American High School?

According to this article [The Japan Times] no, it's not complusory for Kento to have passed high school. It's sad if this is true, because I would have to wonder what would Tsujimoto do if his career doesn't prosper.
