This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

In fact, over the past three games, Matsui has overtaken Makoto Imaoka (Hanshin - .332), Kosuke Fukudome (Chunichi - .330), and a couple others to take over the leading batter position. Furthermore, he is now one RBI shy of Alex Ramirez to round out his Triple Crown bid.
When Matsui hit #20 last Thursday (July 25), it marked Matsui's 9th consecutive year with 20 home runs or more. He's the 15th player to do it. Current team-mate Akira Etoh needs 10 more in the second half to streach his streak of 20 or more homers to 10 years in a row.
