Fighters, Be Ambitious!

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Fighters, Be Ambitious!
The Captain has published another of his witty and informative "Sake-Drenched Postcards" about Pro Yakyu. This one is entitled "Fighters, Be Ambitious!" featuring thoughts and fan interviews of the Fighters' move north.

This has helped clear up what they're talking about on morning talk radio shows before I'm fully awake for me. I was wondering why Nippon Ham suddenly became such a hot topic when they usually only talk about the Giants when they talk baseball. (Ah, but the problem was that they weren't talking about baseball. I really shouldn't listen to talk shows before my morning mikan juice.)

Oh, and work on that lower body strength, Captain!

A good read. Thanks for the link.

When buying tickets at the Tokyo Dome yesterday, I had a good example of the Fighters' plight. Here it was a Saturday night, and I was able to walk up at nearly game time to buy a good infield seat for the Fighters game. Meanwhile, I went to buy a ticket for a Giants game still a month away, and only standing room tickets were available. No news to you longtime fans, but it encapsulated it for me.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
