Seibu and the Atlanta Braves syndrome

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Seibu and the Atlanta Braves syndrome
The Seibu Lions, with their magic number at 8, are on their way to clinch their 5th pennant in 10 years, their 1st in three years, yet the fans seem to be ho hum about it. The Lions-Hawks game on Sept. 11th drew 23,000, to which the stadium holds about 36,000. Even with Cabrera going for the all time home run record, all this seems to be old hat for the Seibu Lions, and the fans seem to having Atlanta Braves syndrome, where winning pennants is now routine.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
