Lions Clinch 3rd Spot in PL
The Seibu Lions clinched the 3rd spot in the Pacific League with a 6-5 win over the Softbank Hawks, Saturday.

Pinch hitter Taketoshi Gotoh hit a sayonara two-run double in the 9th inning to win the game. Chikara Onodera (1-2) pitched 1 and 1/3 innings of scoreless ball for the win.

With this win, Seibu clinches the 3rd and final playoff spot in the PL. The Lions will now advance to the playoffs unless the Hawks and Marines are tied at the end of the season. The Hawks are assured of at least a share of first place with three games left in the season and Lotte three games back after Chiba Lotte's loss Saturday.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
