More Advertisements on Uniforms in 2006
The NPB Executive Committee agreed on the 26th to approve an increase in the allotted areas for advertisements on uniforms, from two to three. Up until now advertisements were only allowed on the helmet and shirts, but starting with the 2006 season, one advertisement will be allowed on the pants. Good on NPB for trying to expand revenue streams. The quaint notion that baseball is some sort of a "pure sport" has long passed. Much like the Olympics. Now if only owners knew how to not overspend on salaries (same in any pro league in any country it seems), and learn some marketing.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
