Igawa
According to Yahoo news, Igawa will ask to be posted to the major leagues tomorrow. It seems that this is the reason for his erratic performances.

Oh come on Christopher, you don't seriously think that, do you? If anything, his intention to be posted should have improved his performance.
Mind you, I don't think anyone will touch him now after his disastrous outing last week.

Igawa did enough to remain in serious consideration for a Major League team - they always need good pitching. A 13-9 record is not a bad record, and he will attract a lot of interest.
Igawa has been saying that he had a similar arrangement to Matsuzaka with the Tigers. He also declared on his website that he had played his last game for Tigers after his last full season game. However, he was persuaded to pitch in the Japan Series.
There is an interesting irony on his website. It's slogan is Kei Igawa - Iron Nerves. One is reminded of his collapses against the Dragons.

The Tigers have told Igawa that they will not post him and that they will only discuss his next one year contract with him (Source: Daily Yomiuri).

Igawa had a meeting with Tigers' owner recently and was apparently told that no means no. He was also told he would not be released until he had won a Japan Series.

Hoshino-san talks about the Igawa issue on his website. He thinks that Igawa should be allowed to go to the majors. However, he is very critical of Igawa and makes it clear that he thinks this should be permitted because Igawa's selfish and self-centered attitude is a disruptive influence on the rest of the team. Despite this, he does not think Igawa will be successful as he lacks control and ball height.

The Japan Times reports that Igawa has decided to stay with the Tigers. His salary is also reported to be unchanged. No reason was given and no under-taking was given for next year either.
