The new Petagine........?
Just read the following in the Japan Times Baseball Bullet-in [Full Article] -

"Peta's spot with the Swallows will be given to newcomer Todd Betts, a first baseman who hit .291 with 14 homers and 45 RBIs with Pawtucket, the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate, in 2002."

Anyone know much about this guy? Think he can plug the gap left by Roberto's derparture? Mmmmmmmmmmm.....I dunno.....

(Sorry, for the messed up format.)

This guy has a .392 OBP (53-58 BB-K ratio) which shows he has good plate patience. He has some power. I don't think he'll be a star, but he'll be a good player. Rookie stats: .280 .450 slg 370 OPB 20 hr. 80 RBI Again all my predictions are a guess, he might be a fluke or he might become the next Alex Cabrera. Hard to predict switching leagues (AL-NL), let alone switching countries and styles of pitching.
