Karim Garcia

Karim Garcia
Apparently Karim wants to play in Japan but Orix handled his contract terribly and with no respect at all. Hopefully he plays a full season elsewhere and hits 40 HR. It appears all the players can't wait to leave there (Orix) and they don't like or appreciate the international guy.

I'm interested to know how Orix treated Mr. Garcia's contract offer terribly. He was offered $1.3 million dollars! Garcia didn't have that good a year and was even demoted to the minors. I would say the contract offer was fair. Orix signed outfielder Jason Grabowski (Dodgers) for $650,000 and he could easily put up the same or better numbers than what Garcia did.

I think Orix was pretty smart in the way they handled their contracts. Also, Jeremy Powell wanted $3 million. They signed Tom Davey for $300,000. With all the savings they could sign Dan Serifini, Kazuhiro Kiyohara, etc.

I agree, Garcia was just above average for a foreigner. I don't think he is even worth what Orix offered. Good luck to Karim getting half that money in the AAA.
