Orix Interested in Former Buffalo Nakamura, Kiyohara
The Orix Buffaloes have made an offer to third baseman Norihiro Nakamura. Nakamura spent the 2005 season with the Las Vegas 51's of the Pacific Coast League. Nakamura batted .128 (5-39) with 0 HR and 3 RBI in 17 major league games, while batting .249 with 22 HR and 67 RBI with AAA Las Vegas.

About the possibility of a Nakamura signing, Orix club president Takashi Koizumi said, "You never know what's going to happen until we actually sign him. Feel free to guess."

Orix also stated it's already in talks with first baseman Kazuhiro Kiyohara. Kiyohara batted .212 with 22 HRs and 52 RBI last year before season-ending knee surgery.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
