Orix Signs Nakamura
The Orix Buffaloes announced that they signed former Kintestu Buffalo third baseman Norihiro Nakamura. [Japan Ball Article]

Nakamura was posted by Orix following the merger at the end of 2004. He batted .128 (5-39) with 0 HR and 3 RBI in 17 major league games with the Dodgers. He batted .249 with 22 HR and 67 RBI with AAA Las Vegas. [Minor League Baseball] In Nakamura's 13 year NPB career, he batted .267 with 307 HR and 916 RBI. [NPB Profile Page]

Nakamura will earn 200 million (2-oku) yen next year. Nakamura said former manager Akira Ohgi helped him make his decision to play for Orix when he said, "I made this choice because of the death of Mr. (Akira) Ohgi. He helped start my career and I want to help boost the popularity of baseball in Kansai with Kiyohara-san."

Nakamura said Ohgi had asked him to join Orix, just like he did with Kazuhiro Kiyohara.

?????? Surely he means Orix.
