Karim Garcia Will Return With Orix

Karim Garcia Will Return With Orix
According to this report from Sponichi Annex (in Japanese), Karim Garcia will be returning to the Orix Buffaloes for the 2006 season. He signed a one year contract for 13 million (1,300-man) yen, 3 million (300-man) yen less than his 2005 salary.

I was a little surprised to read this report, as all the previous reports I'd read about Garcia led me to believe that Orix had given up on trying to resign him, as well as the off-season acquisitions of Kiyohara and Nakamura. It should be interesting to see the new Buffalo lineup.

Garcia probably agreed to lower his asking price, though it does come as a shock to me, too, as I thought Orix and Garcia stopped talking months ago.

Orix has signed Grabowski, Brumbaugh, Garcia, and Davey. Along, with the acquistions of Kiyohara and Nakamura, and the possible reunion of Tuffy Rhodes, Orix looks pretty interesting next year. Orix should also look at Dan Serafini, too.
