Dragons Sign Galva
The Chunichi Dragons signed left-handed pitcher Claudio Galva. Galva passed a tryout with the Dragons earlier this month.

Galva has played in the U.S. minor leagues and independent leagues, along with time in Taiwan.

It seems like this guy has a lot of talent. Is there more information on him? I don't ever recall players in the independent leagues going to play in Japan. But his experience in Taiwan probably helped.

In two seasons with the First Securities Agan/La New Bears, Galva was 4-8-1 with 8 saves and a 3.36 ERA in 38 games. Last year with the Elmira Pioneers of the independent CanAm League, he was 0-2 with a 4.56 ERA in 22 games.
