All Star Votes Tallied
The votes are in and we have the winners. As usual, the Giants take the most spots on the roster with 7 (out of 11 this year - they added middle relief and closer). Nippon Ham and Hanshin were the only two teams not to get a player voted in.

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for. The envelope please...

Pathetic
[ Author: moto-WeirdGaijin | Posted: Jul 12, 2001 3:45 AM ]

This is absolute pathetic.

Giants are a baseball team made from buying players from other teams with HUGE sums of money.

Being in America, it is hard to follow JPB closely, but I am sure there are other players that deserve to be starting in the All-Star instead of these money-minded GIANTS.

I'm sure the GIANTS have hired kids to stuff ballots so it will be GIANTS vs Pacific All-Stars.

Ditto!!! As much as I care about NPB's future with this pathetic result, I'm pretty sure NPB will be doomed. Giants created NPB and they will destroy it as well.

the tragedy continues
[ Author: moto-dynamitedasen | Posted: Jul 13, 2001 1:40 AM ]

Being in Scandinavia I don't get a chance to follow JPB that close aswell.

That there are that many Giants players is not a big suprise. The suprise for me anyway is that there are no Hanshin players. If you look at the Hanshin roster you could understand why.. but I still remember the time when Kawato was elected into the allstar and he was a pinch hitter!! And in that Allstar game at Nissei Kyujo he hit (almost) a double down the left field line but was thrown out at 2nd. Jogging back to the bench with a standing ovation. ( the stadium was packed with 95% Hanshin fans.)

As far as I can remember (maybe I am wrong) there has always been atleast 1 Hanshin player in an allstar game. Being a Torakichi thorughout my life. This is yet another sad chapter in my life. Hanshin fan wa shindoiwa. eekage ni tanomimasse-.

What about Suzuki, Yokohama, He must be on the roster right?

Have you looked at the Hanshin Tigers rooster this year?
