Baseball #1 in Japan
The March 16, 2003 Japan Times [Link cites an Associated Press report that professional baseball is Japan's #1 spectator sport. 57% of Japanese polled by the Yomiuri Shimbun in late February chose pro yakyu as their favorite sport to watch.

Soccer and Sumo tied for #5 with 28%. Marathons, ekiden road relays, and high school baseball championships were #2, #3, & #4 in that poll.

It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world.
