Hanshin Internet Broadcasts - with a catch

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Hanshin Internet Broadcasts - with a catch
SanSpo (Japanese only) reports that Hanshin games (except Hanshin vs. Kyojin games) are to be broadcast over the Internet, taking advantage of the increase in broadband customers.

A translation of the article:

April 3, 2003 - I-tec Hanshin, an Osaka-based subsidiary of Hanshin Electric Railway, announced today that it will commence broadband telecommunication-based broadcasts of Hanshin games played at the Koshien during the 2003 season beginning on April 8.

The broadcasts are available to I-tec ADSL subscribers [emphisis added]; extra charges do not apply. Visual images, commentaries and game data will be broadcast for 46 home games (excluding Hanshin vs. Kyojin games), beginning with the Hanshin vs. Chunichi game on April 8.

A website for subscribers will feature Tigers-related news, and an e-mail service will also send the results of Hanshin games to users.

So there ya' go folks, if you wanna see Hanshin games on the Net, you have to subscribe to ADSL through these people, otherwise, you're SOL.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
