This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

It did come down to the bullpen, though, and with the score 1-1 in the top of the 8th inning, Tomoki Hoshino walked Tadaashi Nakazawa and Nobuhiko Matsunaka. They brought in Minoru Yamagishi to pitch, and Julio Zuleta pounded his fifth pitch into the left-field stands, bringing the score to 4-1. A few batters later, Naoki Matoba batted in a run as well, and they added another run in the 9th; Nobuhiko Matsunaka drove in Naoyuki Ohmura, who had been hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
The game ended at 6-1 Hawks.
I have to admit, when I saw the starting lineups for this game, I thought it was a sure thing for the Lions. Guess I was wrong.
Keep in mind, I was only rooting for the Hawks this weekend because the Fighters were 12-8 against them this year and 7-13 against the Lions, but it was still a pretty exciting series to listen to.
Tuesday, Sapporo Dome, here we come!
