This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Of course, the press and the Giants are roasting Peta because he is receiving 10-oku yen (about 8.5 million U.S.), and hasn't played much. But in the most recent articles, there's a quote by Swallows' officials who say it's actually the Giants' fault, as they should've done some background check before signing Peta to so much money and starting him in the outfield - he has a bum knee and cannot play anywhere but first. Of course with 10-oku dangling in front of him, Peta would agree to anything, least of all playing in the outfield. The result is no Peta for at least a few weeks.
As a Tigers' fan, it brings me more joy than you can imagine that the G's big free-agent signee has gone bust, as the Giants are known for being like the Yanks and buying what they need when they need it. Also, this delays the G's chance of charging back at the Tigers for a little while, at least. But at the same time, I do feel bad for Peta and hope his career isn't in danger of ending.
