Itoh-kantoku's 2007 Key Phrase: Enchanting Baseball
The Seibu Lions' manager Tsutomu Itoh has released his key phrase for 2007, "Enchanting Baseball" ("魅せる野球"). While giving a speech in front of 200 or so fans, Itoh-kantoku said that he's got to deliver the kind of baseball that the fans want to see. That means using the team's speed to provide a thrilling baseball experience. (The Lions stole 111 bases last season, tops for all 12 teams.)

Outfielder Shogo Akada attended the same event and pledged to "steal 30 bases if [he's] the lead-off batter, or steal 40 if going for the title."

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
