Giant Steps Needed in New Era

Giant Steps Needed in New Era
Jim Allen writes in his weekly Hot Corner [Daily Yomiuri] about how the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks (even while they were the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks) are the only team to be able to compete with the Giants for attracting amateur talent. However, where the Hawks excel at developing that talent, the Giants tend to follow the "moneybag approach" and waste it. Despite the Giants' owner, Takuo Takihana, calling for the development of the Giants' young talent, they follow that statement up with "the trade of two promising young players for rapidly fading star Yoshitomo Tani."
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
