Negoro-Commissioner Desires Baseball Agreement Revision
Yasuchika Negoro, NPB's Commissioner, to complete his third year at the post next month, stated on January 5 that he felt strongly that the Baseball Agreemented needed to be revised. In a speech given for the new year he stated, "I have read every nook and cranny of the agreements from the past, the Articles of Association, various other agreements, etc. I know that there are many difficulties, but this organization must decide to seek transparency. This is the one thing that must be done." Negoro-Commissioner intends to present the current state of the agreement revisions at the Owners' Meeting on January 24th, but is not yet complete. For this reason, he would like to continue relations with revising the agreement after he has retired. Regarding his successor Negoro said, "That is for the Executive Committee to decide, nothing will come from my mouth. They have never asked for my opinion."

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
