Akada's

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Akada's "Melody Fee" 0 Yen
Seibu Lions' outfielder, Shogo Akada, after leaving the negotiation table on his third meeting after the Seibu representative received a phone call on his keitai (cell phone), signed for the same 6,000-man yen offered before. He said that he was ready to sign the last time, but was so disturbed at the lack of manners on behalf of the Lions' representative that he couldn't bring himself to. This was right after the fiasco with Hanshin's negotiators yawning through Sekimoto's explanations. However, whereas Sekimoto got a bonus for his appeal, Akada simply got a reassurance that they would not be disturbed. In the end, Akada joked that he'd better remember to turn his own phone to manner mode while riding on the trains after the big deal he made of it here.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
