CL Takes All Star Game 1
The Central League won 4-0 over the Pacific League on a 2-run home run by Alex Ramirez, and solo home runs by Tomonori Maeda, and Masahiko Morino.

Yakult Swallows outfielder, Alex Ramirez, was named MVP of Game 1.

Yomiuri Giants closer, Koji Uehara, started for the CL going 1 scoreless inning. Hanshin Tigers reliever, Tomoyuki Kubota, pitched a scoreless seventh for the win. Only 2 PL runners reached base all night (an infield single by Tsuyoshi Nishioka to lead off the first, and a hit by pitch to Greg LaRocca, also in the first).

Yu Darvish went 2 innings striking out all 6 batters he faced for the PL.

Game 2 will take place at Fullcast Stadium Miyagi. Rakuten Eagles phenom Masahiro Tanaka will face Yomiuri Giants starter Hisanori Takahashi. It will also be the first day game in the 52 year history of the All Star Game.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
