I had no idea Restovich was on those other teams. I thought he was still toiling in the Twins' farm system. (Our outfield was supposed to include Restovich and Cuddyer, but Restovich never panned out.)

I don't think much of this signing. When Restovich was with the Pirates, it was always something like, "This guy looks like a player. We think he's going to hit for good power somewhere down the road." He spent a lot of time on 25-man rosters, but hardly ever got on the field.
Restovich is younger than Buchanan and Hyzdu, perhaps hungrier to prove himself, but I don't see how the Hawks have upgraded their lineup. We all know about the ruined knees of Matsunaka and Kokubo, in addition to Tamura's lack of production in 2007.

I really don't like this signing at all. I would much rather see Buck back with the Hawks. He hit .280 last season and spelled Matsunaka at first.
