2005 Baseball Record Book
It's a little late this year, but the 2005 Baseball Record Book, published by Baseball Magazine Sha and covering the 2004 season, is finally out. I picked up my copy this evening (December 30). It is ISBN4-583-03833-X for those of you interested.

Now I can get to fielding, extended pitching and batting stats, and breaking up stints for those few players who played with more than one team this year. So much data, so little time!

I finally picked up my copy, looks like it has all kinds of stats in it.

As a side note to record books, the same company put out a 70 year history record book, but the price I saw at the bookstore was 30,000 yen! This baby's got 2 hardback books, and the weight felt like it was around 10 kilograms or so. I didn't have much time, but I glanced through it briefly, and it looked to have a whole slug of yearly stats, including year by year schedule win-loss charts for every team, and a whole bunch of other stats that I'd love to browse through. But that 30,000 yen price tag is a little bit over my budget right now. For those of you that can read Japanese, here's the link to the book on the Baseball Magazine Sha web site [Link]
*The book is the first one on the top of the page.

I am returning to Japan tomorrow. Would like to get the almanac. Where is it sold and how much was it?

You should be able to find it at any major bookstore in the sports section. It costs 2,400 yen plus tax. Not bad for over 1,000 pages.
