NPB Foreign Players 2005-06

Discussion in the NPB News forum
NPB Foreign Players 2005-06
The datasets contain player data for NPB who've played in the MLB and MiLB up to 2004.

List of NPB foreign players 2007- are available on baseball reference.

Which leaves 2005-06. Is there any way to find an NPB foreign player list for 2005-06? Stats not necessary.

Here is a Google spreadsheet with a list of foreign players in Japan for 2005-2006.

I'm afraid that my naming conventions for foreign players in Japanese at that time were not consistent. But this should help you get started in whatever you plan on using these for.

Players 103 and 104 have mainland Chinese pinyin Romanizations. The names look more Korean (Ahn and Choi, respectively).

103 - An, Xu was last known to be playing for the Mainland China WBC team. [Japanese Wikipedia]

104 - Cui, Xiao was the same. [Japanese Wikipedia]

If memory serves me, the two were part of the Giants' ikusei squad in 2006 to help prepare China for the WBC.
