Rakuten Looking to Acquire Pedro Valdes
According to Daily Sports, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles are trying to acquire former Daiei Hawks player Pedro Valdes. Pedro was playing with the Saltillo Saraperos of the Mexican League, but according to the article he left the club. My Spanish is horrible so I couldn't find any stats for him from the club's home page.

The article states that Rakuten listed up 10 foreigners who played in Japan up to last year, including former Hanshin Tigers George Arias.

As of April 6, 2005 Pedro Valdez is batting .286 with 4 HR and 10 RBI. [Link - Mexican League Saltillo Sarape Makers stats]
