140 Games Next Season

140 Games Next Season
The "powers that be" in Pro Yakyu yesterday (6/20) decided to make next year's schedule 140 games per team, a 5 game increase over this season.  Up until now, the Pacific League has opposed such an increase unless it meant interleague play.  It looks like they finally backed down and will go along with increased games in their own league, which the Central League had already decided to do.  The Players' Association still has to rubber stamp the decision.

The results are very interesting, is seems to be split down the middle. I didn't expect so many to be against.

Are there that many Pacific League puritans? Or do you all not want to lose games with the Giants, which is why it'll never happen?

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
