Maru-chan Triples

Discussion in the NPB News forum
Maru-chan Triples
The Giants' big slugger Domingo Martinez, affectionately known as Maru-chan, ripped a triple for two runs off of Chunichi's Bunch in the top of the first inning this evening. The radio announcers, as usual, went wild over the fact that Maru-chan can motor the bases as well as he does. They noted that it was his first triple in a Giants' uniform, but looking at my Official 2000 Baseball Guide, I see that he's hit two other three-baggers while with Seibu. Wait, didn't the Lions release him because he didn't fit their speedy image?

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
