Pachimon Players

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Pachimon Players
Of course all fans think that their team is unique but the Tigers fans carry it a bit further. Their players are the only ones who are entitled to the surnames and all the others are 'pachimon' (fakes or copies). Thus Giants have a pachimon Yano, Seibu a pachimon Kataoka and so on. Interestingly, when Tigers acquire a new player with the same name as another, that player becomes a pachimon. So Shinsuke Abe (Giants catcher) among his other nicknames is now also pachimon Abe.

Funny, hadn't heard about that before. I imagine that extends to foreign players as well? So now we may have a pachimon Williams for Yokohama?
