Tigers sign Mench

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Tigers sign Mench
Yes - it's now official. Mench will be joining the Tigers on a one year contract worth $1.8 million. He will play right field though he will have competition. It will be interesting to see if Tigers have managed to scout someone who can be useful in Japan. Sakai owner was lamenting the poor record Tigers have on this recently. Their batting successes Arias and Sheets came from other Japanese teams (Arias from Orix and Sheets from Carp). Other signings have been big busts (Spencer, Kinkaid, Ford).
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
