Camp report

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Camp report
Arai's most recent batting practice was watched by 11,000 people! He managed to hit the ball 140 metres indicating that he is getting over his back problems. Imaoka has also been hitting well and is showing something like his old form.

Mench is proving popular but did need some instruction on the differences in baseball cultures. Tigers don't try and take out the fielder to prevent a double play. Resop has thrown 158 kph in practice and is looking promising. Kubota though has right shoulder problems and is doubtful for opening day.

Fujikawa has been throwing with the WBC ball reaching around 146 kph with his fastball. He considers his form only so-so at the moment.

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
