Another thriller

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Another thriller
Fossom started this one and has likely pitched himself into a second team start. Once again he couldn't master the conditons and gave up masses of runs. Tigers started well with Toritani driving in a run. Fossum then messed things up giving up four runs in the Swallows first including a three base timely to Aoki, a two run home run to D'Antona and a home run to Guiel 4-1 Swallows and a repeat of the night before. Luckily for Tigers, Kawashima, Swallows pitcher also stank but they had to wait for the third innings to get level with a bases loaded walk in, a sacrifice fly and then an Arai hit 4-4. Guiel then banged over his second home run of the game and the Swallows were back in front. Sakurai got hold of a loose pitch and levelled the scores with a solo home run 5-5.
However, Fossom couldn't hold the lead - and Swallows scored two more runs in the fourth with a sacrifice grounder and a hit from Guiel and it was 7-5 Swallows. The fifth was quiet but Uezono too over from Fossom and brought some much needed calm to the proceedings. No such luck for the Swallows who continued with Kawashima. He gave up back to back solo home runs to Brazell and Sakurai again 7-7. To round off the scoring Kanoh drove in the winning run in the top of the seventh 8-7 Tigers. After this everyone was exhausted and the relief took over with Kyuji closing the match out for a well earned victory. What had been encouraging had been the spirit shown by the Tigers players in perservering.
