Tigers new uniforms and slogan

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Tigers new uniforms and slogan
Tigers have revamped their uniforms for the 2012 season. The home uniform is evolutionary rather than revolutionary but the grey road uniform has been consigned to the dustbin. It has been replaced by a new black top/white trousered uniform. You can judge for yourself by following this link:-

The team slogan has now changed as well. After Mayumi Tiger's seedy roue style (Focus on this play, this moment) we have a much more direct style. Wada Tigers will campaign under: 'Go for the top'. Still lame but a big improvement.

I always found "Focus on this play, this moment" a bit odd, so I'm fine with the simple "Go for the top." By the way, do you happen to know how these slogans are decided? Does the PR department do that? Ownership? Management? It might vary team by team, but English slogans have long been used for Japanese teams, so was just curious.

I've always understood it to be the PR department translating the manager's musings into English. Maybe it's just the PR department.

This photo looks like a pre season exhibition game photo between Chiba Lotte and Hanshin. Bad move Hanshin.

I like the new road uniform in black; not the home style much because I prefer the stripes going up all the way. The slogan is great, a big improvement over last year's mess (which always sounded to me like the advice of a mild-mannered psychotherapist).

Let's go, Tigers!
