Practice games

Discussion in the Tiger Tails forum
Practice games
As part of Spring training several practice games have been played. The first on the 12th against Nippon Ham saw an 8-5 victory. The second was another victory 6-2 against the Carp (14th). Orix succumbed on the 18th 18-1. This saw a very much second string side demolish Ihara - the latter giving up 13 runs over three innings work. Okada did not look happy. Morita was very impressive and we saw some nice work by the Tigers pitchers to restrict Orix to one run. Takahiro Arai looked too tense but loosened up a bit later and hit a double, a two run home run and managed a walk in. Today Tigers played the Giants and lost 1-0 only managing to generate 3 hits (Hirano, Johjima and Yamato). Giants only run came from the bat of Chono and they could only generate five hits. Kanemoto batted four and was anonymous but then this was the situation for everyone else.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
