Japan Cruises Past Philippines 10-0 in Asian Qualifier Nightcap
December 1, 2007, Taichung International Continental Stadium — Japan easily dispatched with the Filipino national team 10-0 in last’s nights Asian Olympic Qualifier match up in Taichung. Starting Pitcher Wakui Hideaki breezed through six scoreless innings against a badly overmatched Philippines squad that managed only one hit. Kobayashi Masahide pitched a perfect seventh to end the game. International baseball rules dictate that a game is called after seven innings if one team holds a ten-run lead.
