Rakuten Moves?

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Rakuten Moves?
Hi,

I was just wondering whether or there are any big name free agents out there this off-season. Rakuten needed a lot of help, but all the players went to the Orix Buffaloes in the merger. The Eagles have Kazuo Fukumori, Yasuhiro Ichiba, and Hisashi Iwakuma for pitching, Koichi Isobe for hitting, but that's about it.

The Fukuoka Softbank Hawks' outstanding catcher Kenji Johjima is a free agent, but he has said he will either stay with the Hawks or go to the Major Leagues. He could definitely play in the National League where most catchers are struggling offensively.

Johjima has said if he stays in Japan he will remain with the Hawks. There has been talk of the RedSox signing Johjima.
