Kazuhiro Sasaki Surgery

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Kazuhiro Sasaki Surgery
With Kazuhiro Sasaki's elbow tender, I was wondering if anyone knew what elbow surgery he underwent a few years ago in Japan, and if his current elbow tenderness was in the same area, or if it were in a new area. Thanks for any information.

Sasaki had bone chips removed from his elbow in 1999. (Not Tommy John surgery, as some members of the media reported last year.)

According to Sasaki, his elbow is fine. So I don't think anyone knows if the tenderness was in the same area. It was in the elbow is all that's known.

It may be nothing. It's the end of the season, Sasaki hasn't exactly been getting many opportunities to work with the way the Mariners have been playing, and when he does get work it's a number of days in a row. It would not be surprising if his elbow was just naturally tender from the stress being put on it.
