Lee Seung-yeop

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Lee Seung-yeop
I always knew Lee Seung-yeop could play baseball in Japan. Last year was tough as he hit .240 with 14 home runs and was sent to the minors. However this year he's been right there in the middle of the Marines' lineup hitting .272 with 26 homers.

What adjustments did the Marines' coaches tell him to make? Is there still a chance he could go to the Major Leagues like he had originally wanted to?

Hello, die-hard Marines fan here. I think the change-ups and sinkers here in Japan are much more devastating than those in Korea. Lee-Seung Yeop has needed time to adjust to the offspeed pitches, and still you will often see him waaay out front in a ridiculous fashion. Like, on his knees.

He has never really had much problem dealing with fastballs. He can turn on those quickly; and when he does, watch out!

I sit with the Marines' hard-core supporters in the right field stands, and even there you can sometimes feel anxiety when Lee Seung Yeop is at the plate with two strikes against a good changeup/sinkerball pitcher.

Japanese pitchers are just really good at this trick pitch stuff. Even in the Majors.
