Lee to the Giants?

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Lee to the Giants?
What is with the Giants ruining everything for Lotte? Supposedly, Lee Seung Yeop is going to the Giants, since Lotte is keeping Fukuura at 1B. Lee seemed frustrated because he was always a DH and he wanted to play more defense.

This would give the Giants a legitimate first baseman with the ability to hit 30-40 HRs. For Lotte, this means Benny, Franco, Saburo, and Fukuura need to step up big to replace those numbers. Hopefully, Val Pascucci is coming back and will see a full season in outfield or DH. He's definitely capable of getting Lee numbers.

From what I heard, Lee and the Marines failed to come to an agreement over salary details. The Marines didn't want to budge off their original offer of 250 million (2.5-oku) yen. So far, Lee's Japanese agent has said they've been in contact with other NPB teams and have been in contact with Lee's U.S. agent.

I heard a move to the major leagues could be in line for Lee. Lee said he wanted to be completely free of barriers with negotiations with teams, including those ones overseas. So, Lee might not go to the Giants just yet.
