Tiger Closer

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Tiger Closer
I think Fujikawa should close for the Tigers. Anyone agree? He's got true closers numbers: in 14.2 innings he has 25 strikeouts with a 0.61 ERA - just amazing.

Yea, Kubota is good, but Fujikawa is a waste to be a setup man. He is too good for that role.

The notion of a "closer" who comes in mostly on save situations is kind of outdated. Fujikawa should definitely be used in high leverage situations like late in the game leading by 1 run, 2-3 runs with runners on, a tied game, or even losing by 1 run.
