The Bobby Rose Legacy

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
The Bobby Rose Legacy
Dragons' catcher Motonobu Tanishige played in his 2,000th game earlier in the week. The Pro Yakyu News commentators discussed it briefly. They attributed Tanishige's long career in part to being fortunate in having a chance to work with Akihiko Ohya, but one of the other points they mentioned was that what Tanishige learned from Bobby Rose about weight training was also a key factor in the catcher's longevity.

I found it interesting that Rose is still having an impact on Japanese baseball even though he's been gone a while, and I was pleased that his contributions are not being overlooked.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
