Lack of 2nd Generation Stars ?
In the June 4, 2003 Japan Times [Link] Marty Kuehnert specutales on the reasons that NPB hasn't produce multi-generational baseball stars like MLB.

Marty cites the three generation Boones (Ray, Bob, Bret, and Aaron), Bells (Gus, Buddy, David, and Mike), and Hairstons (Sam, Jerry, Johnny, and Jerry Jr.) as well as over 100 two generation players.

Kuehnert wants your opinion on this subject at mpk at gol dot com.

BTW: My Japanese mother chants "Boone-Chan" every time he comes up to bat.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
