Thoughts of Season's End

Thoughts of Season's End
The NPB Hanshin season's over. Friday night and there's no game on. It's around this time of year I start thinking I should get a friend or a hobby or something.

It's cricket season elsewhere, but they don't show that on TV here. That's probably for the better, because if baseball and cricket were televised year-round, other people would simply cease to exist for me.

Roll on, March!

Haha, yes, once the Series ends my kids will be surprised that daddy suddenly allows them to watch TV in the evenings again, even when it's not Monday. But only until March!

Come on over to a Vissel Kobe game! Only a few left at Wing Stadium this year!

You can follow Hawaii Winter Baseball until November 22. But let's face it, it's the toughest time of year for baseball fans. Winter is when I look at my piles of old Baseball Digest magazines and try to learn things about non-favorite teams and players I'm not so familiar with. I wish there were a similar magazine in English for yakyu fans. Thank goodness for this website! A tonic for the yakyu-starved.

There's always the Dominican Winter League and the numerous other winter leagues. Not to mention two Chunichi pitchers, Shoji Nagamine and Akifumi Takahashi, will be playing in the DWL.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
