Knuckleballers in Japan

Discussion in the Open Talk forum
Knuckleballers in Japan
According to Japan Baseball Daily, the Carp are interested in knuckleballer Jared Fernandez. I understand that former Kintetsu Buffalo Rob Mattson threw some knuckleballs in games, but it was not his primary pitch. Two questions:
  1. Will Fernandez be the first true Knucklballer in Japan?
  2. How do you think he will do?

He will be the first true knuckleballer for sure. I think he will do well. He will have bad days as all knuckleballers, but he can eat up innings and give some stability to that Hiroshima Staff.

Now that Kuroda has amazingly re-signed, Hiroshima could be fun to watch!

I wonder who will catch him.
